Planning on visiting the spa before your big day? Our Beauty Expert Vicky King answers your questions relating to brows and spray tans in this Beauty Q&A…
Q: I have my brows regularly waxed and tinted. How long before the wedding day should I have this done?
A: They say your eyes are the windows of your soul, so your brows must be the window frames! Their shape and definition really enhances the bone structure of the face and can make you look fresher and younger. I would recommend every bride have their brows done before their big day. Ideally, this should happen 3 days before the wedding. This will allow for any redness or swelling to disappear, and also for the top layer of skin to repair itself so that make-up will adhere to it. Make-up does not like to stick to freshly waxed skin! Remember to have a patch test 48 hours before your treatment just in case any allergic reactions arise.Worried about your brows or spray tan on the big day? Click To Tweet
Q: I would like to have a spray tan before the wedding, but have already had my make-up trial. Will this affect the wedding make-up look I decided on at my trial?
A: Professional make-up artists carry a wide range of colours in their make-up kits to suit every skin tone. Your MUA will be able to match your foundation to your spray tan. In regards to eyes/lips/cheeks, as long as you haven’t opted for a tan that is much darker than your natural skin tone, these probably won’t be affected much. It may just require a little tweaking by making the colours more intense or using a slightly darker tone. I would recommend that you make your MUA aware of the tan just so they are prepared.
Spray tans vary so much, I would definitely recommend that you have a trial of those as well if you have time. You want to be sure that you are happy with the tone and intensity of the tan, as well as with the application!
