There are some things in life that are hard to find – the perfect man, the perfect dress, and the perfect bra.
Once you’ve got the first two things you are well on your way to planning your perfect wedding day. However, many brides to be do not realise the importance of support on their big day – and I mean from their underwear!
Ideally, you should be wearing a well fitted bra from your very first dress fitting. If you know what style of dress you want then make sure your bra matches – maybe get a multiway bra so you can change it to halterneck, strapless or even one shoulder if needed.
This stunning low cut gown would be best worn with a low front plunge bra, or even just a bit of tape!
If you’re planning on not wearing a bra for your big day, bring one to your fittings anyway – you can compare what dresses look like with or without, and there are of course stick-on bras for backless dresses, or even nipple pasties if the bodice of your dress is quite a thin fabric and you don’t want anything poking through!
A third of UK women still buy the wrong bra size!
This elegant low back dress would need a bra to match – I would recommend a simple push up bra with smooth cups so it won’t show through the sheer fabric at the front. I would team it with a low back bra converter so you can carry that elegance out of the room with you.
If you don’t know what style you’re going for yet then wear a bra that fits you well – if you’ve never been fitted for a bra then get to Marks and Spencers or Ann Summers ASAP!I cannot stress the importance of a decent bra! According to the Telegraph last year a third of UK women still buy the wrong bra size. The average boob size in the UK is 36DD so there’s quite a lot of us that feel we can’t really get away with going braless! Some things are hard to find...the perfect man, the perfect dress and the perfect bra Click To Tweet
These tiny spaghetti straps can be popped off if desired; so I would go for a simple strapless bra under this beautiful taffeta gown.
A decent bra can make you look slimmer and help your clothes to flatter you – so it could potentially make all those wedding dresses look the best they’re going to look on your body.
Similarly, if you’re self-conscious about certain areas on your body, you could wear control pants or Spanx to pull in your tummy, bum or thighs. If you’re feeling super sexy whilst trying dresses on your confidence will increase and when you’ve found your perfect dress you’ll feel it from boobs to bum!
Even though this fabulous dress has a high neckline and sleeves, I would still go for a strapless bra as any straps will show through the lace at the front. Since I’ve altered the back from a zip, and buttons that finished at the top, to a low corset; a strapless bra would compliment it beautifully.
