The Curve Collection from White Closet Studios Liverpool
A peek inside White Closet Studios…
Just before Christmas, I had the absolute pleasure of popping in to White Closet Studios Liverpool. Their light and airy boutique is nestled away at 39 Rodney Street in the heart of the Georgian Quarter. I had been invited by Eve and Lucy to check out their fabulous Capsule Curve Collection of wedding dresses. As a curvy woman, I was super excited to see what they have to offer!
White Closet Studios select their edited collection with plus size women in mind. They choose pieces that suit a curvier frame, and most of their gowns can be made up to a size 32. Shopping with them is a very personal experience by appointment only. Thinking back about my own horrific wedding dress shopping experience as a size 18, I could see that would not happen in this bridal salon! There were plenty of dresses to try, and Eve explained to me that they are experts in pinning gowns so that you can see exactly what your dress will look like once it is altered to fit you. No gaping backs and bulldog clips happening at all. They have won Best Bridal Retailer North West 2018 at The Wedding Industry Awards, and it shows!
Their collection includes pieces specifically chosen to suit curvier frames!
They currently stock 3 designers. One is Charlie Brear, a London based label specialising in simple yet sophisticated gowns that can be customised with various seperates. Then there is the modern vintage inspired HalfPenny London, with again a focus on mix and match seperates that are luxurious and fashion forward. Finally, the Spanish designer Jesus Peiro who blends chic gowns (some with pockets!) and boho Mediteranean laces. All of the designers feature luxe fabrics and are really something special, a bit different from traditional bridal wear.Gorgeous Charlie Brear, HalfPenny London + Jesus Peiro dresses Click To Tweet
There is also a small collection of bridesmaid’s dresses from We Are Rewritten, again having simple silhouettes available in a variety of beautiful colours. I am going along on January 27th to try these babies on for my friend’s wedding in June! I would love to have one of the stunning wedding dresses (I am particularly taken with a fringe skirt from HalfPenny London), but will settle for a gorgeous bridesmaid’s dress!
Check out their website and contact Eve at the Liverpool boutique to book your appointment.
