While we were planning our launch earlier this year, there was only one DJ that we wanted to play at our party! I have personally been at weddings where D-Jay has been the entertainment. The music is always great and the couples are always super pleased with his service. Here he is to tell us more:
Tell us a little bit about what you do…
After playing in a successful wedding and function band for over 20 years, I decided to use my wealth of experience and set up D-Jay a few years ago. I provide music for weddings, corporate events, and parties.
What era of music is most popular at weddings?
Obviously it will depend on the clients and their guests, but I always find you can’t go wrong with a bit of 80s or Motown.
Name one song that’s a must for a wedding playlist…
Over the last year or two it would probably be Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars!
What has been the most popular first dance song?
Again, it’s a very personal thing, so I enjoy it when it’s a bit different and special to the couple concerned. But saying that, Ed Sheeran is very popular.
Are there any songs that should never be played at a wedding?
Maybe…. Band of Gold by Freda Payne or D.I.V.O.R.C.E by Tammy Wynette!
I genuinely love working in a room filled with love
What do you love most about your job?
Sounds a bit cheesy, but I genuinely love working in a room filled with love and a great atmosphere. And contributing towards it being a special and memorable evening.
Who’s your favourite Liverpool music icon?
It’s got to be The Beatles hasn’t it?!…………or Sonia!
