Beauty Q&A with Glamorama Makeup – Glasses

Q: I am a glasses wearer and will be wearing them on my wedding day. What sort of hair and make-up looks can you recommend?

A: Glasses have never been trendier than they are right now! I also wear specs, so I can totally give you some great tips for your wedding hair and makeup.

Hair: Whether you choose to wear your hair up or down, I find having a few loose waves that frame your face to be the most flattering when you wear glasses. It just softens the overall look and brings attention to your face as a whole, rather than just the spectacles. Loose waves are also bang on trend this wedding season. You can achieve this look by using a large conical wand styler, curling the sections of hair away from the face. Run your fingers through after and lightly spray with hairspray.

Make-up: The main focus of most make-up looks is the eyes. To make them stand out behind your frames, you can wear a bit more eye shadow. I tend to focus more on accentuating the shape of the eye with deep matte shades applied in the socket line and outer corners. Adding a touch of pretty shimmer to the center of the lid makes them appear bigger and brighter. Alternatively, you can keep the eyes simple. Just wear one lovely neutral shade across the whole lid with a flick of eye liner and great lashes. By doing this, you can play up your lips more by choosing a bright lipstick in your favourite colour. I love wearing simple eye shadow and a bold violet lipstick! If you choose a defined or simple eye look, do not over look the brows. You may think you can hide them behind your glasses, but a bad brow could forever haunt you wedding photos! Make sure they are neat and defined, accentuate the shape with a fine eye pencil or powder. A wax and tint is essential for such a big day!
