Shopping local for wedding gifts

There’s so many options when it comes to buying someone a wedding gift, so where do you start?

This weekend Lucy spent the day at The Winter Arts Market and it inspired us to put together a post featuring a whole host of local independent businesses who make things that would be perfect for wedding gifts!

I don’t know about you but I love buying and giving things for the home. This can be a great option if the newlyweds have just moved house, or if you know their decor style. Something that shows you really know the couple will always go down well! Sophie Green Artist’s illustrations are fab, they’re full of life, colour and humour. Why not go for a newly married Lambanana print, or my favourite…the Chippy Tea seagulls!

Serving platters and chopping boards are great gifts because no matter what kind of food you like to eat, they’ll always come in handy! And when they look as gorgeous as these from Kate Chesters, you can’t go wrong!

If there’s one gift that’s never a bad choice, it has to be candles right?! Everyone loves a good candle so why not treat the happy couple to some that smell amazing, like these from Oakes Candles.

How about a print with an illustration of their wedding venue? It will look perfect next to all those wedding photos they’ll hang on the wall! Check out these gorgeous illustrations from Alison Butler.

Shop local and you’ll find some amazingly unique wedding gifts!

I think one thing that makes buying a wedding gift so difficult sometimes is that we worry about how big the gift is or how much we’re supposed to spend. Personally, I think a thoughtful gift that shows you know the couple, no matter the cost, will always be appreciated. I absolutely love these coasters from Sophie Corrigan! Find ones that sum up your couples personality or ones that are bound to make them laugh!

Edible gifts always go down a treat, but how about something really unique like a chocolate making workshop from The Chocolate Cellar!

Can you ever have enough mugs? I think not. Check out these gorgeous ones from Clay Elm.

This is by no means an extensive list, there are literally hundreds of great independent businesses in Liverpool! Mersey Etsy team is a great place to start looking if you’re looking to shop local!
