What if I were Meghan Markle’s Wedding MUA….
The Royal wedding is just days away, and everyone is speculating about how the bride is going to look on her big day! Meghan Markle is such a natural beauty, and apparently she will be doing her own makeup (with the help of a couple close friends) for the wedding! That is a stressful undertaking for any bride to be, let alone one who is about to become royalty. It has got me thinking…
How would I do Meghan Markle’s wedding makeup if I were her MUA?
I have been patiently waiting for her people to get in touch with my people, just in case she has had a change of mind. Alas, there have been no official phone calls or special delivery from Royal Footmen. That has not stopped me, a humble Liverpool makeup artist, from planning what I would use on Ms. Markle should she hit me up. Her natural yet glam beauty ethos fits really well with my artistry, so I think we could be a match made in Wedding Heaven.
Meghan has BEAUTIFUL skin! And she is a huge fan of Georgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. It gives a buildable coverage, evens out skin tone, but allows her freckles to show through. To cover any other imperfections, if she actually has any, I would opt for the Charlotte Tilbury Retoucher wand. It covers without looking cakey and would compliment the Armani foundation perfectly.

Meghan signature look is definitely smokey brown liner. I would softly smudge Charlotte Tilbury Rock n Kohl pencil in Barbarella Brown using a tiny eye shadow brush. Once this pencil sets, it is completely waterproof! I would use Kryolan Clear Brow Gel to set her perfect brows in place and lightly highlight the brow bone with a champagne toned shimmer eye shadow such as Shroom by MAC. Her lashes always look amazing, and that is down to her favourite mascara, Diorshow. I would choose the waterproof version for her, and add a few strategically placed individual lashes to add a touch of glamour.
NARS Orgasm is Meghan’s go to blusher, and also one of my favourites! However, it can look very shimmery if applied to heavily. I like to layer it lightly over a cream or liquid blusher on my brides, typically opting for Glossier Cloud Paints in Beam and Puff. This gives that beautiful “glowing from within” look that every bride wants!
Another Charlotte Tilbury product that Meghan and I both adore is her Very Victoria lipstick. I would say this is the perfect brown-y nude for Meghan, but it is pretty matte. I would choose NARS Lip Velvet in Bound for her wedding lip colour. It is slightly pinker which would add to the ‘bridal glow’, has a shine without being sticky, and is incredibly long lasting.
I would set everything with Ben Nye Neutral Set Powder, which is my holy grail of setting powders, and finish with a few sprays of Skindinavia Bridal Makeup Fixing Spray, because Bridal makeup HAS to be bulletproof no matter who you are!
So, I have set out my stall… There are a few days left before Meghan and Harry walk down the aisle… I am fully booked on Saturday, but I’m sure my ladies would be happy to rearrange hahaha!
Meghan, I am here for you girl!
