Woodland Wedding Inspiration
Thinking of a woodland theme for your big day? Or is your venue nestled in the heart of amazing woodland surroundings?
Here’s our take on the theme, a styled shoot to give you all the Woodland Wedding Inspiration you need…
Make the most of your surroundings within your photos! Take a few moments to explore during your couples portraits, and get photographs in all the beautiful places your woodland venue provides!
Lucy wanted to make the most of our fabulous venue by photographing everywhere we could- the woodland areas, bluebells, wild flower meadow and the gorgeous wooden building.
When Carol first saw Greenacres Woodland venue there was a couple of dresses from the boutique which instantly sprung to mind! A corded lace bodice Charlotte Balbier gown, and a flowing chiffon open back Johanna Hehir gown were perfect. Fitting in the the feel we wanted to create for the shoot, with tall trees and delicate bluebells these dresses created the perfect Woodland boho brides.
Knowing our venue was filled with natural elements including bluebells and a wild flower meadow, we went with soft tones of blues, pinks and purples to compliment within the bouquet. We even had wheat bouquet which you can spot in a few of our photos!

To compliment the softer colours of the bouquet we stayed away from black for our groom, choosing grey and blue instead. Teamed with either a white of pink tie he complimented the whole scheme! And you might notice we had two different button holes, one to compliment each bouquet.
We used similar colours in the styling as we chose for the bouquet – soft blues, pinks and whites. Our ceremony room was decorated with wooden ornaments and fresh flowers, perfect for any woodland wedding. Our fabulous cake brought some of the colours together with flowers and ruffles to give that elegant edge.
The stationery Becky created complimented beautifully, using the same hues as well as Hessian – a great way to bring natural elements into you invitations, table plan and place cards.
When designing the look for this Woodland Wedding theme, make-up expert Vicky wanted a relaxed style that reflected the feel of the venue. She wanded the models hair to create loose romantic waves. Our first model had two different looks – First Jenny’s hair was simply pinned back on one side, and for her second look, a stunning plait with a bohemian feel. Jenny’s make-up used warm shimmery tones and followed the trend of smokey half winged liner, using a deep metallic shadow. Vicky used layers of cream and liquid blusher topped with Nars Orgasm powder blusher to give Jenny the ‘glowing from within’ look.
Our model Kim had a lob which sat just on her shoulders, but you wouldn’t know it from looking at the up-do Vicky created. Even shorted lengths can have a gorgeous hair-up on their wedding day! Kim’s make-up was all about gorgeous luminous skin, and warm shimmery tones. Vicky gave Kim a pop of colour by using a purple liner, which really made her baby blue eyes stand out!
The light in woodlands can be absolutely gorgeous! To make the most of it we wanted to take some relaxed and close couples portraits. It seemed like the perfect time to try something a bit different and play with a veil. The light bounces off the veil beautifully, which glides round through the image to frame the bride and grooms faces.
Soph designed this hair piece with the beautiful woodland at GreenAcres in mind. Sunlight glittering through the trees and beds of bluebells on the ground. This is the perfect ‘something blue’ for any bride.
